The structured teaching programme aims to provide children with positive and engaging learning and living experiences. Structured teaching will be most impactful if the strategies used are applied across the different environments. As such, the therapists will work closely with parents with the objective of empowering parents with the knowledge and skills of integrating the use of structures in home environment.
Depending on each child’s needs, the five elements of structured teaching (as follows) can be integrated across different skill areas e.g. social skills, communications skills, daily living skills, and academic skills etc. to support the learning for each child.
The academic support programmes are conducted by experienced teachers who have understanding of both the mainstream/special education academic curriculum as well as the strategies for teaching the children with learning needs. The programmes aim to support the academic needs of the children who are in preschool, lower primary and upper primary levels.
